String Of Bananas Plant Turning Purple

Greetings to everybody. I'm in the midst of an organic grow and feel I'm experiencing some form of deficit. The stems have gradually become purple, and it has crept up to near the plant's top. I am aware that this is not genetics, since I have previously cultivated this variety without seeing any purple. My best estimate is that I have a phosphorus shortfall in the plants but not in the soil, which means the phosphorus must be made accessible to the plant. I suspect that a fungal-dominated ACT will aid in "unlocking" the phosphorus in my soil, but I'm not certain since this is a new problem for me. Generally, I prepare my supersoil and have no nutritional concerns.... In any case, any suggestions would be much welcomed. I just flipped these gals and I'd want to resolve this issue as soon as possible!! Sent through Grasscity Forum from my iPhone

Propagation: In the spring or summer, take 4 in (10 cm) stem tip cuttings and put them in wet potting material. They should be pressed into the potting mix until the leaves are nearly completely covered. Maintain a gently moist medium. They will swiftly root in the axils of the leaves where they are linked to the stem.

Additionally, Cotyledon pendens, Sedum morganianum (possibly a parent of Sedum âBurritoâ), Senecio âString of Raindropsâ (believed to be a string of pearls hybrid), Senecio herreianus (string of beads, among other names), Dischidia nummularia (string of nickels), and Othonna capensis are all wonderful trailing succulents (little pickles).

Succulents' flesh is a reservoir of water and nutrients. That is, they do not need or tolerate soil that retains a great deal of moisture. If your plant seems to be dying, the first thing to examine is the soil and its ability to retain moisture. It should be a quick-draining soil mix, which means that it should have sufficient sand, pumice, or other grit to allow excess water to drain quickly. Once the extra water has drained away, you should have a damp but not saturated soil. If the pot seems damp or muddy after watering, it is most likely retaining too much moisture and will eventually destroy your string of bananas plant. Make your own succulent or cactus mix by combining 1 part soil, 1 part sphagnum moss, and 2 parts coarse sand, grit, or pumice.
