Flamingoes are pink-colored birds that are found mostly in southern Africa, but also in Yemen. They are found across Africa in alkaline settings such as salty lakes, pans, and estuaries. Sexual dimorphism exists in these beautiful purple-colored birds (the male and female look different). Males and females alike have a red beak and a black tail. Males have cinnamon-colored upperparts with purplish-blue feathers around the eyes and vivid blue feathers on the cheeks and underparts.
