I used to spend many hours perusing business and first-class review sites. Even though I assumed it would take me 100 years to gather up enough money to enjoy such a trip. That is, until I saw an absurd anniversary offer on God Save The Points' deal page (which I stalk on the regular). He detailed other routes that Qatar was offering at steep savings, which occurred to fit with our vacation plans. We were on our way to Bali from Europe and need transportation. I booked our tickets without hesitation.
Additionally, you may switch between forward- and rear-facing seats. Rear-facing seats have their consoles on the aisle side, which keeps them close together, but forward-facing seats have their consoles in the center, which keeps them further apart. Although these center Qsuites are completely private, they have moveable panels and television screens, which enable some of them to be transformed into distinctive multi-person spaces: The two-cabin Business Class portion of the A350-1000 was designed by PriestmanGoode of the United Kingdom and seems worlds away from the majority of Qatar Airways' Business Class rivals. The cabin is illuminated by LED mood lighting in Qatar Airways' characteristic burgundy hue, a relaxing color palette accentuated by sophisticated and warm rose gold details and even some marble-finish whites. You'd best be a fan of pink to fly Qatar Airways Qsuite, but beyond from that, the cabin is exceedingly elegant and private.
If you find yourself alone in the center, there is also a partition that allows you to have your own place. If you are traveling with another person, it may be converted into a type of double bed. If you're traveling alone, you'll almost certainly want a window seat. These are alternately ordered. I opted for 7K in the back cabin, which faced the rear. This brings you closer to the window but makes serving you a bit more unpleasant for the cabin staff, as they must reach over the ottoman. There are no seat maps available online at the moment, since I believe there is just one A350-900 equipped with QSuites flying. When checking in online, it's not immediately apparent that there are two cabins, but the rear-facing seats are plainly designated with an R.
The Q suite as a whole is exceptional, and in my view is the greatest business class product available. I just flew business on the Emirates A380 and was really happy with the luxury and service, but the Q suite is much better. The storage layout and spacious foot well enable easy and comfortable changing over in any position, and the option to seal the door and activate a Do Not Disturb sign is a fantastic addition. Several reviews elsewhere have favored rear-facing K seats over forward-facing J seats due to the slight increase in distance between the suite door and the aisle, but the door does an excellent job of preventing you from being bumped by passengers or flight attendants en route to/from the galley or restrooms. Finally, although I rode alone this time, there were a few families of three to four sat in pods with retractable privacy screens, which is a nice addition if you have little children.
