After receiving many requests to create a lesson on how to draw a sunflower in response to my article on how to draw the sunflower from Plants vs Zombies, I figured I best get started on this one. To begin, you'll need to design a basis for your sunflower.
Now comes the enjoyable part. This is the stage at which your sunflower artwork comes to life. Because I like how vibrant and vivid markers are, that is what I will use here. However, you may use whatever media you like. I like working with markers since they can be combined together to produce seamless color transitions. And they're so eye-catching in bold.
The design is quite adaptable and may simply be scaled up. If you've been itching to paint on a huge canvas, this is an excellent technique to start with! I picked ultramarine blue as the backdrop color because I adore how it contrasts with the yellow! You may change the backdrop color and even eliminate the spirals if you choose.
Our lesson on "how to draw a sunflower" begins with two basic circles. Create a giant circle, followed by a smaller one about half the diameter of the larger one within. Now, like we did, you may use a compass or anything round, such as the edge of a glass or mug, to draw flawless circles. However, do not despair if you do not have anything available; they are only recommendations for sizing the sunflower petals. There is no danger in the circles becoming somewhat wavy.
Prior to the invention of photography, botanical illustration was employed to record the shape, color, and intricacies of plant life; yet, many modern painters and illustrators continue to seek to emphasize the beauty of flowers in their work. Kate Kyehyun Park is one of those painters, who uses watercolor to create gorgeous blossoms. Although the Korean illustrator's ever-growing portfolio demonstrates her ability to create stunning floral watercolor images, she does not keep her talents to herself. Rather than that, she provides her sketching instructions on Instagram, demonstrating the numerous procedures involved in portraying various types of plants with just a pencil and paper. From poppies to cosmos flowers, her educational illustrations demonstrate how, in just three simple steps, you, too, can achieve flawless proportions and realistic details.

Sunflowers are huge, attractive plants that also produce sunflower seeds. They feature very big inner rings that are dark brown in color, much like the sunflower's core, from which the seeds are extracted. Additionally, the petals are large, vivid, and golden. Every summer, my grandmother grew sunflower plants along the front of her home, just across from the kitchen window. I've always like this flower species, and since it's so popular, I believe you'll discover that sketching a sunflower is surprisingly enjoyable. I'll be back with two more "for kids" lessons and two more characters from a fresh new Series Network cartoon. Adios, and have a wonderful remainder of your sketching day!

If you wish to change the color of the flower, you may use other colors for the shading. Simply fill in the outlines with a light pencil, delete any unnecessary or harsh forms, and begin coloring. Begin by giving the light tones a foundation hue. Then begin adding the flower's mid tones. Once complete, paint the flower with a deeper hue to provide depth via the use of dark tones. While it may not seem to be simple at first, with consistent practice and a few pointers, sketching flowers may be enjoyable! Make an artistic statement with the flowers by shading them with graphite pencils and charcoal pencils. If you like a more realistic and brilliant appearance, use additional vibrant materials such as water colors, poster colors, or even crayons. When choosing flowers to draw, aim for those with intriguing petal patterns, such as dahlias, hollyhocks, hibiscus, roses, orchids, lilies, and tulips. Violets and honeysuckle, for example, are also excellent subjects for sketching.
3 Techniques for drawing a realistic rose Sketching a realistic rose is a talent that those with advanced drawing abilities may master. You may utilize the template we created above to add some fantastic hues to give it a more three-dimensional appearance. Begin by sketching the leaf wrinkles with a lighter hand. Carefully blur the lines with your finger. Create shadows on the flower's bottom portions, much as it would under natural daylight. If desired, add more petal portions for authenticity.
Begin by sketching a simple flower. Create petals with asymmetrical forms and shaky edges. Add folds to the flower petals and a curled line to the edge. By sketching curving lines radiating from the center of the floral doodle, you may add depth to it. Rep the previous step with smaller curved lines from the petal tips inward. Add circles to the flower's center. Finally, include the stem and leaves. Additionally, this tip may be used to any of the floral doodle lessons included in this blog article!
