Of course, I'm referring to how Dana Carvey, a comedy terrorist in his complete disregard for social conventions and single-minded desire to make people laugh, and his gifted collaborators launched a devastatingly successful frontal assault on our collective funny bone on September 11th, 2001, by filming the legendary Turtle Club sequence in the great Dana Carvey's 2002 classic Master of Disguise. The world would never be the same again. To this day, merely saying the words âTurtle! Turtle! Turtle!â in a gratingly unnatural way induces Pavlovian shivers of joy in myself and my fellow Pistachio Nuts, as Master of Disguise superfans are dubbed.
I was fortunate enough to see this video while on a road trip in someone else's vehicle, rather than squandering 90 minutes of my own time (as well as a couple bucks). If you are compelled to see this film, that is almost certainly the only time you should squander. It makes an attempt at being amusing, but fails terribly. According to one review I read, it concealed its humorous moments better than the main character concealed himself. Regrettably, it is the whole truth. Adults, you will find nothing entertaining here, unless you are really fond of completely lousy, flat jokes. Children, you will not find anything entertaining in the film, since the actors are not amusing at all. The directing was likewise subpar, and the vulgar comedy was meaningless and stupid (as is the case with most films). I felt humiliated just by seeing it. You will gain nothing by skipping this film.

Why Is It Unable to Disguise Itself?
"Look, Pistachio, the funny voices and facial expressions were amusing for about a second." This effectively summarizes the film's central conflict. Irresponsible jokes and sloppily crafted comedy (especially the flatulence humor, which is done 9 times.) While Pistachio Disguisey is a sweet man, his character is really obnoxious and foolish. In several sequences, he is too indifferent to his surroundings, always joyful and creepily smiling with his eyes crossed throughout the film. Outside of making strange expressions, he really has no individuality. Additionally, he does not sound like an authentic Italian. If anything, he sounds like an accented Grandpa Munster from The Munsters. Throughout the final credits, there are deleted moments and bloopers, all of which are too lengthy. Throughout the film, Pistachio's disguises change often, with each persona being more obnoxious than Pistachio himself. One is his notorious turtle disguise, in which he just shouts the word "turtle" throughout the action in a Kermit the Frog-like voice. To add insult to injury, this specific moment was shown prominently in all of these advertising, implying that it was the scene's primary highlight for humor, but in truth, the scene's sole attraction was its behind-the-scenes history. The Master of Disguise was responsible for the demise of the careers of the majority of its actors and crew. Perry Andelin Blake has not directed another picture since this one failed.

On September 11th, 2001, something occurred that permanently altered the course of American history. It was a watershed event whose ramifications were so deep, far-reaching, and long-lasting that American history may be effectively split into two periods: before and after. Everyone is aware of their whereabouts at the time of this historic occurrence. To echo FDR's remarks regarding another historic assault, this time on Pearl Harbor, it is indelibly etched into the cultural memory, into our collective consciousness as Americans, as a day that will live in infamy.
