N Alveolaris Inferior Anästhesie

Description The Inferior Alveolar Nerve (n. inferior alveolaris; inferior dental nerve) is the mandibular nerve's greatest branch. It descends in the same direction as the inferior alveolar artery, first under the Pterygoideus externus and then between the sphenomandibular ligament and the mandibular ramus to the mandibular foramen. It then advances along the mandibular canal, behind the teeth, until it reaches the mental foramen, where it splits into two terminal branches, incisive and mental.
