Reki Kyan, a high school student, is obsessed with one thing: skateboarding. He goes to "S," an illegal underground race within a mine where skaters compete in extremely perilous settings, when night falls. Reki is now unable to practice at all following a loss that resulted in the destruction of his skateboard and the breaking of his arm. Reki runs across his new student, Langa Hasegawa, who is half-Canadian and half-Japanese and has no skating experience. Langa is in severe need of financial assistance. When they are both instructed by Reki's boss to see "S," they get themselves into difficulty and are forced into a bet that necessitates Langa to compete in a race.
